The Skyway Conference is comprised of eight community colleges and has been hosting a STEM research poster competition for our students for the last 12 years. The poster competition is designed to familiarize them with the research process and better prepare them for undergraduate research at their transfer institutions.
They are looking for STEM professionals to serve as poster judges at this year's competition. The competition will be held on Friday, April 19, at Morton College from 9:00 am - 2 pm.
Students will submit a 2-4 page paper and a poster for competition. Judges would be asked to score the paper portion using a provided rubric prior to the day of competition. Poster judging will occur at the event. A rubric will be supplied for the poster as well. We anticipate each judge will score 3-5 projects in total. Judging instructions will be provided via email ahead of time.
They anticipate ~20 projects being presented across the categories of biology, chemistry, environmental/earth science, and engineering/computer science/math.
If interested and available, please contact Rob Schuch (rschuch@anl.gov) and Sara Helmus (sara.helmus@morton.edu) and provide following: Name, Title, Category(s) you would be comfortable judging, and bio.
