Build teaching experience, inspire the next generation … volunteer for high school coding camp
This summer, Argonne’s Educational Programs is hosting a five-day coding camp for high school students, Coding for Science (July 24-28, 2023) and we are seeking coding volunteers. This year, Coding for Science Camp will return to being in person at the Learning Center on site at Argonne. Students learn the basics of Python and delve into computational thinking in an engaging environment that allows them to work together and with Argonne staff and scientists to solve problems and explore potential careers in this growing field. Volunteers help students understand and debug their code. Argonne’s coding camps help us inspire and build skills in the next generation of STEM problem solvers.
No prior experience in Python or teaching is required, but coding experience is helpful. Our Education staff will provide guidance on facilitating interactions with students. Time commitment can be as little as 2 hours, or more depending on your interest and availability.
