Hello,
the Bridge Into Internships program is a six-week (June 15th - July 31st) pre-internship experience designed to provide rising college freshmen with hands-on learning, professional development, and exposure to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program is intended to help prepare students to be internship-ready for future opportunities, including programs such as SULI and SIP.
Mentors play a key role in this experience by offering guidance, sharing insight into their work, and helping students better understand what a pathway into STEM can look like in practice. Mentors are paired with a student and support them in learning the tenets of research within their discipline. For many participants, this will be their first meaningful connection to a STEM professional and a national laboratory environment.
If you are interested in serving as a mentor or learning more, please join us for an information session on Wednesday, April 8. If you know someone on your team or at the lab who may be a good fit, please feel free to share this opportunity.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support and shape the next generation of STEM professionals.
Best,
Brandon Pope
