Argonne Tours

The Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) Events Team organizes public tours, business-related tours for guests of Argonne staff members, and assists with virtual tour requests for conferences, meetings, and events.
Laboratory tours are offered free of charge and are available by reservation only. In-person general tours last about three hours and include an overview of the laboratory and visits to at least two research facilities: the Advanced Photon Source (APS), ATLAS particle accelerator, and/or an exhibit hall telling the story of Argonne's past and present research in nuclear science and engineering. Virtual tours are also available and last around one hour. A virtual tour offers an overview of Argonne, two research facilities (various options available), and live Q&A.
Tours are available for person age 13 and older. We offer two types of in-person tours. Individuals and small groups of 10 or fewer may sign up for a scheduled tour. Tour groups of 10 or more are arranged upon request. Virtual tours are arranged upon request.
CPA receives multiple requests looking for researchers to discuss specific topics during a tour. We are looking for volunteers to help with tours to give a more in-depth experience in your fields and showcase the research at Argonne.
